Most notably Winston Churchill, who came to write in peace, and George Bernard Shaw, who learned the tango here.  You’ll find some of Funchal’s most-esteemed restaurants on the grounds too. Michelin-starred William offers a taste of contemporary fine dining, while the tone is more traditional at The Dining Room. The attraction of our Italian dining option, Ristorante Villa Cipriani, is the outdoor sea-view setting.  Finally, you may simply want to unwind on the poolside terrace for a more relaxed meal.
